I’ve started putting some content on the main site. The new site allows for a very interactive experience. So, if you are reading this and want to be a part of it you can sign up for an account on the main page.
Right now I’ve started playing with translating the gospel of Mark. It’s in the book section. Anyone can contribute to that if they want. Also you can post articles, discuss stuff in forums and stuff like that.

It’s been my day to have my brain stretched. I spent some good time this morning reading up on Quantum mechanics and Chaos theory. They are really the new science that has been a major push past Modernity into what we call postmodernism. Very interesting stuff. And how strange that we go watch a movie tonight with Joy, Scott and others and end up watching The Butterfly Effect. Jeff Mount and I talked a little afterwards about a Calvinism/Arminianism discussion that I started on the message board. And now it is really striking me how much Chaos theory effects Calvinism. The world is so much more complex than we realized, and that leads me to think that God is a whole lot more complex than we realized. That really excites and energizes me!

I’ve been a slow blogger lately… I’ll get better, I promise.
Last week(actually the last 2) was rough at work. Jeff was out of town and Russell Insurance had major problems. Crazy stuff. It can only get better.
Last night we went to a Birthday/Graduation party for Mark. It was a fun party. Bekah, an old friend from his Messiah days, made the trip. It was really cool to see her. Also had some good conversations with people… I’ve felt a bit socially isolated since we stopped going to Horizon.
And I’ve thought a little more about that politics thing. I think if I still bought into the functional christendom model of church that America has had for most of it’s history then I would be a fan of Dubya. Realizing that has helped me to understand why most american christians seem to love him so much.

Let me just start by saying that I have never voted in an election. But I am not some ultra-radical anarchist either. No candidate has ever motivated me to vote. This year, I equally dislike both options. But after some discussion and thinking I did come up with a candidate that I would vote for. If John McCain ran as an independent(or in 4 years as a republican) I think I would vote for him. I don’t even line up with his political views, but I respect him and trust him. If he led our nation to war against Iraq I wouldn’t be questioning personal issues like I do with Dubya(revenge for Saddam trying to kill his dad, his links to the Saudi royal family, his Israel ties). But, John isn’t running… so I’m not voting again this year.

On this Fourth of July, I offer you 2 interesting reads. First is a Peace Declaration made by christians in 1838. The second is the Kingdom Now 95 theses. If we are ever to be challenged on these things, today should be the day.
