The planet is showing only 2 posts in the past week from anyone at simplepilgrimage. I guess the holidays have us worn out. Alicia and I are down in Virginia visiting her family. It’s been a nice time away and its always nice to spend time with her family. We are heading back to Maryland this afternoon.
After having Advent gatherings at our place leading up to Christmas we ended up not doing anything spiritual/religious at all on Christmas day. That was kind of weird. To redeem that I would like to have something on Epiphany. That will be Thursday, January 6th at 7PM at our place if anyone wants to come.

Merry Christmas everyone! We have been pretty busy lately with Christmas stuff. Tomorrow we go down to Narrows, VA to see Alicia’s family for a few days. Having a little downtime will allow me some time to think and post something meaningful. And if you’ve sent me an email and I haven’t responded yet, I’ll get to you too.

Tronster threw a very cool party tonight. I got to meet Greg in person after having some good conversations with him on the Horizon message board. I also got to see Peter Worstell who I hadn’t seen in around 4 years. Random connections. We also got to hang out and converse with Mark and Missy. Good times.

We were supposed to have two parties last night, but we didn’t make it to the second one because the first one was better than we thought it would be. Sorry Jeremiah and Maryanne, we would have liked to come. Tonight we have Tronster’s cocktail party and then people are going downtown for Joanna’s 21st birthday. I know we will be at Tronster’s, but I don’t know about downtown afterwards. I’m not as young as I used to be.

I’ve been reading The Connecting Church by Randy Frazee. I have been looking forward to reading this book since I read an interview he did with The Cutting Edge a few years back. But I have to tell you, as I’m just about done with the book, that I have been really disappointed in it. It is written to Willowcreek wannabe’s and I have been hitting some serious disconnect on a lot of it. And if I hear about the Christian Life Profile or the 7 steps of this or the 30 attributes of that anymore I’m gonna kill myself. If you were interested in reading it, don’t bother. Some good ideas but the presentation will drive you nuts.
