We are back from closing. Everything went smoothly. We now own a home!!! Yay!
Final walkthrough
Yesterday Alicia, my mom and I went down to Richmond for the final walkthrough of our house. Everything is in order. The house is still beautiful. They have cleared the 3 lots next to us to start building soon. We have the key to the house. Closing is at 4 today, and then the deal is done. Moving day is October the 8th.
After doing the walkthrough we took my mom around Richmond and showed her some of our favorite parts like Cary Town and The Fan.
We then went up to Short Pump to eat at Red Robin before heading back on the road. In a testament to healthy eating, my mom got carded. To put that in perspective, my older brother Jack would be 32. You rock mom!
Getting ready to move
I haven’t blogged in a while… been busy getting ready to move. We close on the house this Thursday and will be in Richmond October the 8th(less than 2 weeks!). There are a lot of emotions swirling around me. I’m sad because I’m going to miss my friends and family, I’m a bit scared about having to make new friends and get all new clients at work, and I’m exciting because this new adventure is about to start.
We’ve been going through our junk a lot lately. We’ve decided not to take it with us to Richmond, so if you want some junk, let us know. We do have some less-junky stuff to give away as well. We have a little(I’m guessing at 25″) TV and stand for it that we don’t want to take with us. We also have a bunch of christian books to give away if anyone knows of a local church with a library that would want them. I’ll update this post if we find other things people might actually want.
That’s what I’m talking about! 1
Ryan Bolger has put together a list of the innovations in the Emerging Church. I love it! Read his post here. (HT: Andrew Jones)
Hospitality near Sacramento, CA
I don’t know where people on here are located, but we(my lovely wife Alicia and I) will be out near Sacramento, CA(Roseville to be exact) in the beginning of November for a wedding. We are hoping to get out there from the 2nd to the 6th. We’d love to meet other emergent types, and would appreciate greatly the cost savings of free lodging.
If anyone wants to put up a young couple for a couple of days, please send me an email at discipledaniel@gmail.com. And if anyone is looking for hospitality near Richmond, VA after October(when we move there), we’d love to have guests.
