Everything a weekend can hold 1

After work yesterday we(Alicia and I) went shopping, looking for a dress for the party at Willow Lawn tonight. We headed to the suburbs because apparently that is where people can get dresses they like that don’t cost $400. Cary Town may be trendy and hip… and have stuff from local designers and not made by kids in sweatshops… but we are too poor for that. Alicia did end up finding a very pretty dress at The Dress Barn, which should really be called the pants-suit barn because there were like 3 dresses there. I played the loving husband, standing outside the dressing room waiting. The result, a perfectly lovely dress for $40. I guess that is worth the drive to the suburbs

On our way home we stopped by Walgreens because Alicia needed an energy drink. We had made plans to go out with some of her co-workers after 10, and that is normally our bedtime, so we needed energy. Alicia tells me we were the only white people in the Walgreens, but I guess we’ve lived in Church Hill long enough that I don’t even notice that anymore. Equipped with our energy drink we headed home to get ready.

We hit the town with her co-workers at like 10:30. After a couple of failed attempts to find a place to go we ended up at Easy Street in The Fan. It was really loud and the band was struggling, but we had fun none-the-less. Her co-workers are a lot of fun. We didn’t get to bed until 2.

Today holds lots of work for Alicia as they prepare for the party. My plans, since they told me I can’t help prepare for the party, are to do more dreaming of the plot for my novel and do some chores around the house. Tonight from 6-10 is the party. Be there or be square.

And I really have no idea what tomorrow holds… hopefully some reading, a walk and some warm apple cider. I love fall and want make sure I don’t miss the wonders of it this year. The brisk air, looking at the changing leaves, kicking through piles of downed leaves, tasting the fall flavors of pumkin and apple. What a great season!
