I’ve linked this and lifted one of your photos completely w/out permission — is this ok? (I’m looking at this as a self-contained record for the future)
Yeah John, it’s totally fine. This blog is supposed to be under a Creative Commons Attribution license but I just noticed that the badge is missing. I’ll fix that.
Hey Lenfer, welcome to my blog. There are plenty of houses near here that I would love to buy and fix up… but these were definitely not on my list. I’m not normally a fan of older homes being torn down, but these were bad enough that I don’t mind them being gone. But I do wish someone who saw their beauty, like you do, got a hold of them instead.

Is a replacement lined up for them already or will this remain a vacant lot?
I don’t know if a replacement is scheduled. I doubt it because it was the city tearing them down. But there are a couple groups of investors working hard on these two blocks so it shouldn’t be long before someone buys it up.

I almost bought the totally beautiful rehabed house next to those eyesores just tuesday! I might have beaten the other buyers to the punch if I knew this was happening… Darn.
Sorry you missed out on it, it does look very nice. I’m glad to hear that someone bought it though as I hadn’t seen much activity back there recently. Yay, new neighbors behind us!

I think they are beautiful. Not nasty.
