Sorry for the blog outage these past few days. Our internet went down and we were out of town. Let me wish you all a belated Merry Christmas!
We were up in Maryland visiting my family this weekend to celebrate Christmas. We went up Friday morning and came back last night(Tuesday). It was a nice trip. The highlights include an amazing mirror that my parents made us(pictures to follow), some funny games of Apples to Apples and general good times with my family. It was nice that my grandparents from PA were able to come down for a couple days and then a lot of my dad’s side of the family came up for a party yesterday.
In other news, the kittens are all claimed/gone! We brought Niqi to my parents, and our neighbor Johna took Grey last night. Bear should be getting picked up today or tomorrow. It’s gonna be quiet around here.

Alicia and I joined our friends David and Brad to watch The Prestige at Byrd Theatre last night. This is significant for a couple reasons. First, we never watch movies, let alone go to the theater. I believe that the last movie we saw in the theater was Brokeback Mountain and before that it was Saved. Second, it was our first trip the The Byrd, which is a very beautiful place. Third, the movie didn’t start until 9:30 and we went on a weeknight. Our bedtime is normally around 10 on a weeknight because of Alicia’s early morning schedule. That didn’t stop us though, and the movie was pretty good. Thanks for inviting us David!

This weekend started out with a trip to Babes to see two of Alicia’s clients turned friends Kristin and Rich perform. Very cool people and very talented musicians, glad we made it out.
Saturday included lots of preparation of christmas gifts. I made an appearance at A Different Richmond which I hadn’t visited in a few months. It was good to see people. Then we hit up two parties. Adele had her annual party at her place, which is always fun, but we didn’t get to stay long because we had to get over to the Gold’s Gym company christmas party at Big Daddy’s in the Bottom. Alicia’s co-workers are a lot of fun.
Sunday involved no parties, but it did involve more gift making and some general marital fussiness.

I’ve been tagged by Adele in one of these blog meme things. I’m supposed to tell you 5 things you probably don’t know about me. So, without further ado, here are 5 things you probably don’t know about me:
- I was arrested for shoplifting when I was 15. I stole condoms, lighters and playing cards. Everyone was very concerned that a 15 year old was having sex, smoking and gambling. In reality, I was just trying to be cool, and failing.
- Following up the last one, I was a virgin when Alicia and I got married. That was 10 years after getting arrested for stealing condoms, for those counting.
- My educational history includes private school kindergarten, public school for 1st through 3rd grades, homeschooling from the 4th through 12th grades and two years of college at Virginia Tech before dropping out.
- I went 4.5 years without dating or kissing any girls before Alicia and I started dating. For those still counting… that was the time between dropping out of college and starting to date Alicia.
- I told my best friend Jeff that I thought I was going to marry Alicia months before we started dating.
I’m guess I’m supposed to tag some other people now. So, let’s see, how about Ross Catrow, Valerie Catrow, John Murden and Eric Murphy. How about it?

The blog aggregator I’ve run for the past couple years, EmergingChurchBlogs(originally called PlanetEmergent) is out of my hands at 11:16 today. It seems like it was a useful resource for people so I’m glad I ran it but I got bored with it a while back as it got to busy in my opinion and I had never monetized it, so I decided to shut it down. Kevin McGill has taken control of the emergingchurchblogs.info domain name and will be attempting to put something similar back up. The planetemergent.org domain name is still in my possession, so if someone would like to have it let me know. For those of you looking for the blogs that were on it, here is the OPML file that will let you import them all into a feed reader.
