We’ve been taking some steps around here to go green. We’ve switched out almost all our light bulbs to CFLs. We’ve gotten three recycling containers and are making a big effort to recycle everything we can. We’ve started the switch to biodegradable cleaning products(Method rocks!). Future changes will likely include making our house more energy efficient(more insulation, tankless water heater, etc), a compost bin, a hybrid car(likely a Prius) and maybe other fun things.
Take a few minutes today and think of some simple things you can do to make this world a cleaner and better place.

It’s a sad thing that it’s February 21st and I just did my first bike ride of the year. I haven’t really done any riding at all since I hurt my knee playing football in early December. But I went for a short 3.5 mile ride this morning and it was good. Sure I’m way out of biking shape, but it’s a start. I’ll be back to 18 mile rides before you know it.

We found our outdoor cat Pip this morning stuck on the top of our fence with her foot caught between two of the boards. She is amazing athletic and jumps to the top of our privacy fence(6 feet) and then up to our back porch(almost 6 more feet). It looks like she misjudged a jump down. Her back right leg was/is in really bad shape. The vet did some surgery to fix it some. She lost one of her toes but they are hoping that her leg will survive. She will be inside for a while as she heals. She’s a tough one though so we think she’ll get through this.

But when I remember, I post to it.
My parents were in town this weekend and we’ve had a lot of fun with them. Friday night we got Sticky Rice sushi and enjoyed a nice hangout time at home. Yesterday we got lunch at Ellwood Thompson’s, showed them the Willow Lawn Gold’s Gym, and went to the southside Pier 1 clearance store on the south side. We went to Cous Cous for a wonderful dinner last night. This morning we went over to Jumpin J’s for breakfast. I know it sounds like all we did was eat, but eating with good company is one of my favorite activities. 
We just put together a new shelf(pictures to follow) that our friends Alisha and Casey picked up for us at Ikea and now we are going to watch a little of the Daytona 500. We might even hit the gym sometime today.
