My new Macbook came this morning. I’ve spent my free time today getting programs installed, getting files copied over to it, and getting used to it. So far so good. Apple makes such quality products, it just blows my mind! It’s really as much about the details as it is about the nice eyecandy. Things like the magnetic power connector with the charge status light, the built in iSight video camera, the widescreen display that feels larger than it is, etc, etc. I love it so far! Now hopefully I’ll be able to work with it okay.

I got a long ride in this morning. Ryan and I went on the ride from PharrOut’s office to the Three Chopt Ukrops. I was brave/dumb(we’ll find out which tomorrow morning) and rode over there for the ride. That made it an 18 mile ride for me. Here’s what it looks like on the map:

I’ve signed up for a Twitter account that I am starting to use. Twitter is a blogging-lite type service that let’s you post should updates about what you are doing from the web, IM and TXT messages. It can also give you alerts when your friends write something. What good is this you ask? Well, it would let you stalk me pretty easily. But I imagine you would get bored with that quickly. The thought behind it is to allow a group of friends to stay in touch about what each other are doing on a more detailed way.
We’ll see if it’s more than a novelty. But you can stalk me here.

My laptop appears to be on it’s last leg. It’s made some weird noises, it’s screen is discoloring at times, and the power plug is getting fickle. This little Fujitsu Lifebook has served me well these past 2.25 years, but it’s time to get it’s replacement. Not only that, but I decided to take a bigger plunge and buy a Mac. Yep, I’m switching. I ordered a 13″ MacBook and it should be here next week.
Back from a MD trip

I know I didn’t blog that I was going, but I’m back from my Maryland trip. I went up Tuesday night and came back last night. I got a lot of work done and got to hang out with some friends. Also got to meet Mike’s new girlfriend Sarah(she’s very cool). It was a good trip, now I need to get life back to normal.
