The International Bible Society has released a new bible version(not translation) worth taking note of. It’s called The Books of The Bible and the changes the traditional order and formatting.
It’s intentions are to encourage people to read the books of the bible as books and to actually read the bible in general. To do this it removes the chapter and verse markings(but references the range for each page at the bottom) and goes to a single column layout(like every other book we read in our culture). It also doesn’t include any reference notes. Not a study bible, a reading bible. It also goes back to the Hebrew book ordering for the First(traditionally Old) Testament and comes up with a new book ordering for the New Testament based on groupings of like-minded books. You can see the order on the samples pages of their website. Looks interesting enough that I’ll be ordering a copy in a minute.

Cool book. Thanks for the heads up. I will order this, as well.
What translation is this? Can I get it in whatever translation I want? I honestly hate the columns and artificial chapter breaks.
NRSV FOR LIFE.
Oh wtf, TNIV? That sounds stupid. I hate the NIV.
I may have to check this version out. I’ve really enjoyed reading the Men’s Devotional Bible as it equates everyday life issue in an organized fashion. Thx for the excellent find, Daniel. I’ll be sure to check it out!
