Tonight at around 9:30 my grandmother(who we grew up calling Nanny) passed away. She collapsed while playing cards with her girlfriends yesterday and never recovered. The word that is coming to my mind when I think about her life is committed. She was as committed to her church, her husband, her family and friends as anyone could possibly be. To realize that to equal their marriage mark Alicia and I need to be married 56 more years blows my mind! She is already missed here.

Today marks 6 years of marriage for us! Go us! Alicia is in charge of this years anniversary plans and she is keeping them a secret from me. I’ll let you all know what she came up. During these past 6 years Alicia has never ceased to amaze me with her love for life and her perseverance through hard times. I love her a ton and couldn’t imagine my life without her. Six down and a whole lifetime to go!

For those checking this blog on a regular basis I want to apologize for the infrequent posting. I really haven’t been able to come up with anything worthwhile to write. I’m hoping that after this week I’ll be able to return to writing more regularly again.
This week we’ll be heading down to Narrows to be with Alicia’s family. The anniversary of the shootings is Wednesday and they are dedicating a bridge to Jarrett on Thursday. If you are the praying type we would appreciate them. If not, then we also welcome positive thoughts.

As my dad just announced on his blog(complete with pictures so click through) my brother Mike proposed to his girlfriend Sarah this weekend! We love Sarah and are very excited about this! She fits in perfectly with the family.
