25 And Over | Tomato Nation

It’s a bit harsh at points but it’s an interesting statement on what our society thinks grownup means. It means being responsible and independence according to the article. I’m in complete agreement with the responsible part. The independence part not entirely if it means not depending on your friends for things and instead paying professionals. To me part of being friends to be be there for my friends. It’s okay to me that people depend on me. Here are some thoughts I had while reading:

You are completely fine to never send me a thank you note and save a tree.

Feel free to assume you can crash here if you need a place to stay when coming through town.

I will absolutely help you move. ASK ME. I kind of like it and I think it’s stupid to pay for movers.

You can tell me about your crazy dreams.

Seriously, have you ever seen a couple look better after just having a baby?!?! And here is one of me holding her:

You’ve probably seen something on the news about the violence in Kenya since the election. If not then you should really follow a better news source(I suggest The Real News and/or CNN). This type of story is always more real when you have a personal connection to it. My friend Jake was over there doing photography work when all hell broke loose. To hear his story and see pictures head over and read his blog post about it. It’s a crazy and amazing story that includes getting attacked with a machete and being surrounded by an angry mob. I’m so relieved that he is home safe. Pray for peace in Kenya.

Today is my college roommate Drew’s 30th birthday(Happy Birthday Drew!). I know this because Facebook keeps track of that stuff for me, otherwise I am really bad about knowing birthdays. So I left Drew a comment saying happy birthday on Facebook. He wrote back and said he was just thinking about us because he was sitting in the Richmond airport. Weird. My college roommate who I haven’t seen in 9 years was 6 miles from our house. So after a couple more messages back and I forth I ended up going over to the airport and we got to hang out for about an hour and a half. How cool is that! It’s pretty amazing that we both look pretty much like we did 9 years ago, except he can grow facial hair now(I still can’t really, stupid bald patches) and has some. We had a nice time catching up on life. Good times. Thank you Facebook for making that happen.

If any other old friends read this and ever come through Richmond you better let me know so we can meetup, okay?
