Crazy amounts of potluck fun! 1

Posted by Daniel on January 25, 2008

At my last count there were 23 people here for potluck last night! That is a record crowd! And the food was fantastic! Nothing is better than a house full of friends and lots of good stuff to eat and drink. Thanks everyone for coming out, we had a blast!

Thank you Facebook

Today is my college roommate Drew’s 30th birthday(Happy Birthday Drew!). I know this because Facebook keeps track of that stuff for me, otherwise I am really bad about knowing birthdays. So I left Drew a comment saying happy birthday on Facebook. He wrote back and said he was just thinking about us because he was sitting in the Richmond airport. Weird. My college roommate who I haven’t seen in 9 years was 6 miles from our house. So after a couple more messages back and I forth I ended up going over to the airport and we got to hang out for about an hour and a half. How cool is that! It’s pretty amazing that we both look pretty much like we did 9 years ago, except he can grow facial hair now(I still can’t really, stupid bald patches) and has some. We had a nice time catching up on life. Good times. Thank you Facebook for making that happen.

If any other old friends read this and ever come through Richmond you better let me know so we can meetup, okay?

A house blessing 1

We got to go to the house blessing for Gabriel House Catholic Worker today. It is a catholic worker house of hospitality that our friends Matthew and Sarah have started with their friend Emily. They bought a run down house up a bit from us on the East End of the city. It’s an exciting project and I’m excited to get to see it evolve. They will be having community dinners Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at their house so if you are in Richmond you should stop by for dinner and hear their dreams. Rock on guys! Thanks for inviting us to be a part of the blessing today!

A busy but extremely fun weekend 1

This week has been full but very fun. Friday night we had dinner with Ryan and Aoife. Ryan made sushi. Like real, homemade sushi. It was pretty impressive and very yummy. We always have a lot of hanging out with them.

Saturday morning I helped CHAT with their new fence. It was good to meet some people there and be at least a little helpful. Saturday night we went out to dinner with Casey and Alisha for Alisha’s 30th birthday(Happy Birthday Alisha!) and then went to our mutual friend Tony’s 40th birthday party. After that we went back to the Krukowski’s house for “games” which ended up just being us hanging out playing around with the questions for 80’s trivial pursuit.

This morning we got up early and had coffee and some breakfast stuff with Ryan and Aoife at 8. Aoife leaves for Ireland tomorrow night so we are trying to get to spend as much time with her(and Ryan) as possible. After that we went to church at The Well for a special 2nd church anniversary breakfast and gathering time. Tonight we are going out to dinner with Joe and Carol Anne who we haven’t seen in WAY too long.

Everything has been so much fun so far, but part of me is ready for Monday because things will be calmer. Ha! Hope you had as much fun as we did this weekend!
